Diwali blues

Far away from home and not with family n friends mean a lot in these times. Nostalgia and mush hit me today, here is a bit of poetry to balance that.

All you who sleep tonight
Far from the ones you love,
No hand to left or right
And emptiness above -

Know that you aren't alone
The whole world shares your tears,
Some for two nights or one,
And some for all their years.

Because Diwali is not about lamps and lights and sweets and holidays. It is about belonging, accepting, loving, caring...et al.

Diwali was okay...nothing great. Too much headbanging going on right now. I think I'll have to defer my Diwali celebrations for a while. :)

As I've matured..... I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm. I've learned that it is not what you wear; it is how you take it off.
